How Much Ionized Water Should You Consume?

It is suggested that you consume half your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you would consume 160/2=80 ounces or 10 cups (8 ounces per cup) of purified water each day. Tap water is not suggested as it may contain toxic chemicals -- you may be causing yourself problems. Water purified by reverse osmosis is a good choice; distilled water is not -- it is dead. Do not neglect to take mineral supplements as purified water may leech minerals out of your system. You should increase your intake of water GRADUALLY, otherwise you could cause damage to you kidneys. How do you manage to drink this much water? Try drinking 3 cups upon rising (swish and rinse your mouth out with water first; acid ionized water is good for this), and 1/2 hour before breakfast. Take another 3 cups 1/2 hour before lunch. Take another 3 cups 1/2 hour before dinner. Take a cup before bed. In any event, drink one cup every 2 hours. If it is hard to remember to drink water, try this: Every time you pee, drink a cup of water.

Water means water. Many soft drinks, coffee, and some teas contain caffeine which is a diuretic (which means that it removes water from the body). If you have a cup of caffeine-containing beverage, you need to balance it with an additional cup of water!

Drink 1/2 hour before a meal, and 1 hour after a meal in order not to interfere with digestion. Common advice is to wait 2-1/2 hours after a meal before drinking, but this may be too long as you start to dehydrate. Also, it is better to drink warm water, or at worst room temperature water. Ice water tends to interfere with the digestion process. Remember that digestion is a biochemical process that is affected by temperature!

Consumption of water is so effective for the maintenance of health, and so easy to do. Yet, it is also easy NOT to do. Good health requires being vigilant that you do the easy things each day.
